«TeckNow» – Furniture, Art & Design in the former watch factory of Basis Watch in Tecknau

Discover furniture, art & design: Under the title «TeckNow», Open House Basel invites visitors to the former watch factory Basis Watch in Tecknau from May 7 to 10.

Every year, the event format Open House Basel offers architecture tours in and around Basel. This year, the site of the former Basis Watch factory in Tecknau is also part of the programme. Just outside Basel, approximately 30 minutes from Basel SBB station via the S3, visitors will experience a vibrant mix of design, art, and music.

The former watch factory of Basis Watch M. Thommen AG in Tecknau opens its doors from May 7 to 10, 2026 – and under the title «TeckNow», it becomes a stage for design, art, and music, centred around the furniture creations of Werner Blaser (1924–2019). The exhibition features pieces from the collections of Daniel Salzberg, Christian W. Blaser, as well as models from current producers Spectrum Design, Molteni&C, and Löffler ERGO.

In collaboration with artists Suter & Bult, Kerstin Caduff, and Mous Lattaf, as well as Galerie Freitag 18.30, the factory spaces will be filled with books, photography, and music performances by Richi Gemperle – Flamenco guitar – and the Daniel Salzberg Quartet. Including furniture sales.

We warmly invite you to the vernissage on Thursday, May 7 at 7 p.m., and to visit the watch factory and exhibition from May 8 to 10. We look forward to inspiring encounters!
