From 17 to 22 June 2025, Schauraum B presents an exceptional showcase of contemporary art: «SCENT OF ART – The Taste of Art».
Emerging from a spontaneous moment of shared curiosity, the project brings together artists, an architect, a perfumer, designers, an exhibition maker, and a photographer. Together, they have created a multisensory art experience that cannot be categorised – but rather invites visitors to experience and feel it.
At the heart of the project is the interplay between visual art, space, light, and scent. This connection is conveyed through sensory ambassadors who distribute the fragrance compositions Canvas and Creation, specially developed for the project by perfumer Joschka Klee, throughout the city of Basel before they merge into an olfactory artwork at Schauraum B: The scent of art.

The immersive spatial installation features works by the following artists: Sascha Berretz, Sabina Blaser, Linda ten Dam, Nikola Dicke, François du Plessis, Beate Höing, Michael Kravagna, Patrick Lambertz, Stefan Lotze, Nico Sawatzki, Tom Schmelzer, Thomas Schönauer, and Romain Van Wissen.
«SCENT OF ART – The Taste of Art» is an invitation to encounter art with all senses – ephemeral, intense, and surprising.
