Every year, Open House Basel invites the public to discover outstanding architecture through guided tours in and around Basel. This year, the former Basis Watch factory in Tecknau is also part of the programme. Located around 30 minutes from Basel SBB by S3 train, the site offers a vibrant combination of design, art, and music.

From 7 to 10 May 2026, the former Basis Watch M. Thommen AG factory in Tecknau opens its doors under the title «TeckNow», transforming the industrial site into a stage for design, art, and music centred around the furniture designs of Werner Blaser (1924–2019).

The exhibition presents furniture from the collections of Daniel Salzberg and Christian W. Blaser, alongside pieces by the manufacturers that continue to produce Werner Blaser's designs today: Spectrum Design, Molteni&C, and Löffler ERGO.

In collaboration with the artists Suter&Bult, Kerstin Caduff, and Mous Lattaf, as well as Galerie Freitag 18.30, the factory spaces will be animated with books, photography, and live music by Richi Gemperle (flamenco guitar) and the Daniel Salzberg Quartet. A selection of furniture will also be available for purchase.

We warmly invite you to the opening reception on Thursday, 7 May, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, and to visit the factory and exhibition from 8 to 10 May. We look forward to welcoming you and sharing inspiring encounters.
