Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly changing architecture and interior design. It autonomously analyzes data, visualizes designs, creates texts, images, and floor plans, calculates costs, and evaluates planning variants. Nevertheless, the creativity of architects remains indispensable. AI can support professionals such as architects, engineers, and urban and transportation planners in developing new ideas - but the elaboration of construction plans ready for implementation remains a human task.

Even though the use of AI in planning and architecture is still in its infancy, it is already being used successfully in various areas of spatial planning. It is likely that planners and architects will not be replaced by AI in the future, but rather supported by it. AI can process enormous amounts of data, generate variants, and reveal complex relationships - but true creative innovation remains the preserve of humans.

The debate surrounding AI affects not only architecture, but also urban design, transportation planning, and education in the field of planning. Despite legitimate concerns about the risks of new technologies, it is worth examining how AI influences spatial planning: What opportunities does it offer? What challenges can be expected? And last but not least: What fears and dangers should be taken seriously?

Dates will be announced soon.
