Relaunch Blaser Architects
Founded in 1993, our office can now look back on a career spanning more than 30 years. 30 years in which we have been able to implement a large number of exciting projects, gain experience and, last but not least, continuously develop ourselves. What has remained the same is the passion for our profession and the unconditional thirst for knowledge and the will to share it, because more than ever we believe that it is not about preserving know-how and experience, but about sharing and passing it on - this is the only way to create mutual exchange, progress and participation. Our company claim “sharing experience” is intended to fulfill this desire and is part of our relaunch, which we implemented on the occasion of our 30th company anniversary. Our aim was to carry out a kind of reality check and take a closer look at our brand essence after all this time: what values are important to us, what defines Blaser Architekten today and what image do we want to convey to the outside world? In addition to defining and modeling our own brand identity, we have also dedicated ourselves to the topic of corporate design and tackled a “lifting” in order to sharpen our profile and adapt our corporate image to the outside world. At our side during this process: the Basel advertising agency Yellow.
As an expert in strategic communication, we were confronted with the right questions by Team Yellow and received support in analysis and conception as well as in the implementation of concrete measures relating to brand communication and positioning. Based on the following steps and divided into different phases, we were able to successfully implement our relaunch within a year:
Analysis of our own status quo, the market and competitors
Evaluation and conception as well as the resulting development of concrete measures in terms of communication and corporate design
Concrete implementation of these measures, i.e. corporate website, social media presence as well as stationery and corporate documentation.
Special focus was also placed on the relaunch of our logo and internal organizational structure. For the former, we opted for two interlocking “bubbles”. In pink and grey, these two parts symbolize what we stand for: a technical/specialist part (grey) that reflects us as an architecture firm and a lively, more emotional part (pink) that embodies the practical experiences we have every day in our work. Both bubbles together create space for a third section that connects the first two and visually represents what our claim tries to express in words: “sharing experience”. Following this lead, and also split into three areas, is our newly introduced organizational structure. The Project Circle, with six senior employees, manages the projects and supports the teams in their practical implementation. On the other hand, there is the Corporate Circle, which is responsible for corporate strategy, administrative project management and the back office. Both levels overlap, share their knowledge and experience and thus ensure smooth business and project processes for the benefit of clients and employees.
We deliberately took our time to implement the above measures in order to do justice to the new concept with all its input. We didn't rush into things, but made changes and innovations that were gradually and carefully integrated into our day-to-day work. Today, around a year later, our “new dress” fits like a glove and we are more than satisfied with the implementation and the result.

A large part of our work today is digital and virtual—we design with CAD, enhance plans with BIM data, and visualize projects in 3D. Still, sometimes the tried and true methods prove their worth. Take model making, for example, which continues to play a significant role in architecture. As an architectural practice, we regularly engage with this subject, for example through our work on the Stücki Park project on Hochbergstrasse. This provides good reason to take a closer look. In line with our credo “sharing experience”, we aim to gain deeper insights into why urban greening and bird conservation are so important and what role Basel plays in this context. Auf dem Podium waren Hans Peter Wessels, alt Regierungsrat Kanton Basel-Stadt, Gabriela Theus, Geschäftsführerin Immofonds Asset Management AG Zürich sowie Christian W.
