On 15 June 2018, the Swedish fashion group H&M opened a branch of its premium label COS in Basel, making it the fifth shop in the 'Collection of Style' in Switzerland.
The sales area in the former Musik Hug building on Freie Strasse is around 600 m2 and is spread over the ground and upper floors. A prestigious staircase connects the two open-plan floors, which are only divided by the presentation of goods. Architecturally, great attention was paid to the completely redesigned façade on the ground floor. The shop windows, which were modelled on the historical structure, were enlarged to improve the visibility and lighting of the shop. The building and its surroundings are significantly enhanced by the new stone façade.
We began with the demolition, refurbishment and upgrading measures in September 2017, and the shop fit-out began in March 2018.
