Neubad residential and office building

The search for a new tenant for the traditional Neubad restaurant in Binningen revealed that the continued operation of the restaurant premises was no longer appropriate. Blaser Architekten developed a concept for the listed building with residential use on the ground floor. The commercial uses on the 1st and 2nd floors were retained.

In place of the restaurant, 3 flats were created with flat sizes ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 rooms. The flats are accessed via two entrances to the building. Each flat has its own garden unit.

On the first floor, the existing office space was divided into 2 individual office areas with new kitchenettes, the bathrooms were remodelled and the room layout adapted.

The building services for the entire property had to be comprehensively modernised. A new gas heating system with an air/water heat pump was installed. The spring water pipe, which previously led directly into the building, was channelled into the Dorenbach stream.
