The research and development team of the young biotechnology company Bright Peak Therarpeutics is based at the Main Campus in Allschwil. It specialises in the development of next-generation protein technologies for the treatment of patients with cancer and autoimmune diseases, and we were responsible for planning the expansion of their office and laboratory space on the first floor of the Main Campus designed by Herzog & de Meuron for the steadily growing team of forty researchers.

With accessibility via the west staircase, the 2,350 m2 of office workstations, meeting rooms, lounge areas and informal communication zones as well as laboratories with biological protection levels BSL1 and BSL2 were created, and to promote collaboration, great importance was attached to a visual connection between the laboratory areas and the adjoining office-side break counter by means of large-scale glazing. The lounge area with kitchenette forms the southern end of the premises. It faces the inner courtyard and, thanks to a mobile partition wall, can be reduced in size in favour of a larger office area if the number of employees increases significantly.
