Designed by the Basel-based architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron, the Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area – Main Campus (SIP) is located in Allschwil, near the border with Basel City.

The Switzerland Innovation Park Basel Area – Main Campus is part of the national initiative 'Switzerland Innovation,' which maintains a total of five locations across Switzerland. This initiative aims to strengthen Switzerland as a hub for innovation and promote it both nationally and internationally. Within 'Switzerland Innovation,' the SIP focuses on the fields of "Biomedical Engineering" and pharmaceutical-oriented life sciences research and development.

The SIP offers a unique mix of office and laboratory spaces for chemistry, biology, and medical technology with specialized infrastructure and equipment. Additionally, a central reception area, conference, seminar, and event rooms, as well as meeting areas and coffee/tea kitchens, have been incorporated.
