The complex, built in 1965, is owned by the Basel-Stadt pension fund and consists of a front and a rear building. While the front building is dominated by 3-room flats, the rear building was originally occupied by small flats and offices. The refurbishment focussed on renewing the building services and sanitary installations as well as replacing the kitchens and bathrooms. In the rear building, office space on the top floor and the space under the roof previously used as a loft were also converted into two large new flats. Three new small flats were created on the 2nd floor to replace the original offices. The renovation took place in two stages and was carried out while the building was occupied.
