University building

The commercial building at Spalenberg 65 is owned by IGIMO AG, which has leased the premises to the University of Basel. Right here in the historic centre of the city of Basel and just a few metres from our office, we were entrusted with a total of two construction phases.

The first phase, which took place between July 2019 and August 2021, focused on the second to fourth floors of the commercial building with the ground floor and tenant fit-out. Following the conversion into office and study space and the installation of a photo lab, the second phase began in September 2023. Triggered by a change of tenant, the ground floor was (technically) separated from the first floor, followed by the extension of the first floor, which included the refurbishment of the wet rooms, the upgrading of the surfaces and a new fire protection concept, including a fire alarm system. This floor was also handed over to the users in May 2024.
