Campus Bildung Gesundheit

At home on the Spenglerpark site since summer 2023: the «Campus Bildung Gesunheit» for which four important educational institutions are joining forces and presenting themselves here at Binningerstrasse 2 in Münchenstein.

For the four users, namely the BZG Bildungszentrum Gesundheit Basel-Stadt, the BFH Bern University of Applied Sciences, the BfG Berufsfachschule Gesundheit Baselland and the OdA Gesundheit beider Basel, we were able to take on the fit-out of the new rooms as well as part of the tenant fit-out as part of an active dialogue and workshop process. During the initial planning process, it quickly became clear that the space planned by the Lorenz Architekten and Losinger Marazzi team in Building A could not meet the schools' space requirements, so the opportunity arose to extend two floors of Building B for the «Health Education Campus».

In close collaboration with the Baselland Vocational School of Health, sixteen learning studios organised in clusters were created around the new, centrally located inner courtyards. The clear objective: to meet the school's current and future needs and to enable students to study in a contemporary and future-orientated way. In addition to the construction of the future premises on the new campus, an interim solution also had to be found for the school's current operations. Ultimately, this could not continue as usual due to the ongoing work. This gave us the opportunity to test the different layouts and determine the equipment to be procured for the new rooms with regard to future didactic developments, which had a particularly positive effect on the common rooms, the open learning zone and the administration area.
