Novartis Campus WSJ-386 ONC

As architects and general planners, Blaser Butscher Architekten planned and realised the ONC in the WSJ-386 building on the edge of the Novartis Campus, and the demanding planning and complex realisation in stages took five years. The realisation took place in sub-projects with various users and in operation. The programme included offices and laboratories as well as public communication spaces. It was a very demanding planning task, from planning, quality standards and costs to safety, deadlines and technology.

The integration of new, bright, flexible and contemporary laboratory, office and communication zones required new ideas and innovations. The five large basement floors were adapted to the building services and required the planning of the highest hygiene standards. The ground floor and the six upper floors house laboratories, offices, student workstations and social rooms.

The floors from the 5th basement to the 6th upper floor, the 13th upper floor and the technical floors 15 and 16 were remodelled.
